Experience the past today
Visit the museum’s interpretive center exhibits to get a sense of the scale of the original fort and how the fort helped develop the region into what we know it as today. Take a guided tour through three of the four original structures to learn something about who lived here and what their life was like in the mid-19th Century. Guided tours may last one hour and occur outdoors as well if the weather allows.
Schools, families, and more…
Groups desiring a tour are encouraged to contact the museum for more information. These tours follow the same guidelines as other guided tours, but we may be able to provide specific content if desired.
Enjoy another story we have to tell!
Visit Historic Fort Steilacoom to find Legacy Washington’s exhibit “Young Man in a Hurry: The Life of Isaac Stevens.” If you’re in Lakewood, check it out! Free admission to the exhibit with the purchase of a guided tour. For hours and fees, see text boxes above.
